| notes on auto-lectures The Auto - lecture is a form that attempts to restructure the meaning of a continually insufficient language. Notes are taken as an obsessively autistic recorder of the spoken and written word, one that lacks resource to the filter of comprehension. Rhythm, tone and intonation are heard to circumscribe meaning. Each period of note-taking is punctuated by an Auto-Lecture or Drum-Lecture. Auto-Lectures have been delivered either directly from notes taken or from an Auto-cue. Auto-lectures have been given to those who have spoken the words or been a party to there speaking. Auto-lectures are also taken from lists and lexicons. Auto lectures appropriate and dissemble the formal syntax of language. Auto-Lectures have been mediated through video and subtitled in order to excentuate and objectify the text. For further information see individual works: |
